Accommodation
We have seven guest chalets surrounded by peaceful woodland near Hluhluwe. All of our accommodation is extremely comfortable and spacious. We have rooms suitable for couples and friends as well as 4 self-catering family chalets, 1 self-catering 2-sleeper cottage and 2 family chalets with a shared separate kitchen. All rooms are en-suite and air-conditioned and have a private veranda. We have a lovely tree-top bar for you to enjoy, as well as a games lounge, swimming pool, kids play area and free WiFi hotspot.
Large family? No problem.
We know families don’t come in one-size fits all! We are happy to add beds or mattresses to the family chalet to sleep extra children. The largest family we have accommodated to date had two adults and six children so don’t be shy to ask. We have cots available for infants.

* We are able to provide catered packages or meals for groups by special arrangement. Please do enquire.
Our restaurant however is currently closed except for pre-booked meals (current June/July 2022). We apologise for any disappointment. Our units have self-catering facilities and we are fortunate to have two restaurants very nearby where you can eat out (just 5 minutes away).
Umkhumbi Lodge is a great bush getaway that the whole family will enjoy.

These two family chalets share the use of a separate kitchen and so are ideal for a larger family or small group.
Umkhumbi Lodge has been sensitively built into pristine African Sandforest, carefully preserving this fragile ecology. Our focus is on conservation through education and environmental awareness, delighting guests with all aspects of the African bush, big and small, and providing the service and experiences that have visitors returning as friends.
